Waiting on the DSA 5th gen 4Runner

If I am not mistaken, the term Overland goes back to the horse & buggy era. Before grayhound busses & airplanes, people would travel in a horse drawn carriage (of many types) long distances, many times overnight to get to their destination. Think back to the all those western movies and/or cartoons where a stage coach gets robbed at gunpoint. Those stage coaches were traveling/overlanding multiple days to deliver their customers and goods to their destination. Also of note, there's a really old suburb of Kansas City, called Overland Park. I suspect it got its name by being a popular stop on an old overland route.

B4 is more comfortable as B6 / B8 - correct ?

Awesome content. There is a ton of technical information I have only been able to find on this video. I have B6's on our crosstrek and just purchased these terrasports for our outback. The terrasports are on another level of performance over the B6's.

In practice by adding something like a 5160 shock to a vehicle that had linear tuned shocks from the factory you may actually be increasing spring rate and in a round about way increasing GVW.

My taco is pretty heavy with steel bumpers, full steel skids, winch and sliders. Would the spring that comes with the 8112 dsa+ be too soft for my application or should i be considering a heavier spring? I currently have 6112 with a #700 spring, pretty stiff but i dont mind it since it helps with lift

Bilstein has this podcast; however, when you contact Bilstein’s product or sales support they don’t respond to your questions. Maybe their resources should go to answering their emails than this show.

My 2024 4Runner off-road Premium with KDSS drives very well with Wildpeak 265/70-17 all terrain LT/E rated tires. Also have a full-length roof rack and rock rails. Average around 19mpg.

Correction. Toyota 4Runners on some models have all terrain tires.

I have the same response when I see guys buy Power Wagons and immediately put 20” rims, 6” lifts and other random parts. “Why buy the Power Wagon?”

What about OEM vs 5100's?

Ive got the Terasports on my 2017 Crosstrek. Ive got 15" rims on the way, and getting some 215/75r15 K02's (probably) to go with them with a full size spare. I've done some multi-hour FSR trips and I really want my build to be bomb proof incase of emergencies. Excited to see how the wheels look and feel with the extra lift, love the suspension so far. Great Ep!

Love your content, guys! Ive got a question - when you guys are talking about the 8112s and discussing whether or not knobs are needed. I agree with trusting the bilstein engineers to dial in the shocks for a specific platform, but what about when the platform now has modifications? For example, would someone wanna adjust their 8112s if they’ve got a steel rear bumper and camper shell in the rear? Or say a hidden winch up front? Curious for your perspectives here.

I did the soft-roader Subaru build. It was fun although tragically limited by low speed. The bigger tires with zero options for re-gearing really makes you run faster than you want to be going through difficult terrain.

when will the DSA+ be release for the GX460?

I’m doing an axle swap on my YJ. Doing a JK axle under a YJ. Should I run a YJ shock or a JK and what do you recommend. It will have a 6 inch SOA. When will you air this question. EJS 2024 asked at the Northridge event.
